Miguel Cabrera smashes homer out of Comerica Park and into street

Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera absolutely hammered a baseball on Monday night off Mariners starter Nate Karns.

In the bottom of the first, with a runner on in a scoreless game, Cabrera ripped an 0–1 fastball deep to left-center, on to a balcony, where it bounced out of Comerica Park and into the street behind the stadium.

Moments later, Tony Paul of the Detroit News relayed that the Tigers believe this is the first ball to leave Comerica Park, bouncing or otherwise.

As proof that the ball left the yard, here’s the man who caught the ball.

According to Statcast, the ball traveled 354 feet, and left his bat at 112 mph. It was Cabrera’s 15th shot of the season.

The Tigers went on to win the game on a walk-off home run by Justin Upton in the 12th inning.
