Giancarlo Stanton won the 2016 Home Run Derby, crushing a Derby-record 61 home runs en route to a victory. Stanton cruised through each of his matchups, winning 24–7 against Robinson Cano, 17–14 against Mark Trumbo, and 20–13 against defending champ Todd Frazier in the final round.

Stanton hit towering shot after towering shot, wowing the crowd with his ability to spray balls all over the field. The Marlins outfielder hit the 10 longest bombs of the night, as well as 18 of the 19 longest. You can see highlights of his night below:

Trumbo got the Derby off to a roaring start, hitting eight straight home runs in the final minutes of his first round to move past Corey Seager in the Derby’s first matchup.

Seager hit 15 home runs during his turn, and looked likely to move on when Trumbo was stuck on five dingers late into his round. Seager was no slouch, though, hitting a 454-foot shot in his round.

But the Orioles slugger caught fire, hitting eight straight out of the park so quickly, ESPN didn’t have time to show all of his swings. His 16th traveled 479 feet.

Trumbo was quickly outdone by the Stanton, who hit 24 home runs during his first round, including a 497-foot blast. Trumbo and Stanton then met in the semifinals.

David Ortiz was impressed with Stanton’s first round.

Wil Myers, representing the hometown Padres, was eliminated by the Reds’ Adam Duvall. Myers wasn’t helped by the fact his brother plunked him during his round:

Stanton, who is not an All-Star, has 20 home runs and 50 RBI for the Marlins so far this season. Miami entered the All-Star break tied for second place in the NL East.

The 2017 Home Run Derby will take place at Stanton’s home stadium, Marlins Park.
