The Mets’ pursuit of a wild card spot hit a snag on Wednesday night, with Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte robbing a would-be walk off home run by Yoenis Cespedes to cap off a 4–3 loss.
With two men on and two outs, Cespedes drove a Jim Johnson pitch to deep right-centerfield that was headed over the wall, until Inciarte leapt, scaled it and brought the ball back.

The Mets fell to 80–72, tying them with the Cardinals in an ongoing three-team race for two wild card bids. The Giants entered Wednesday at 80–71, and face the rival Dodgers Wednesday night with a chance to pull one game ahead.
