Curtis Granderson saved the Mets a run with a terrific catch at the wall against the Giants in the NL wild-card game.

With runner Denard Span on second, the Mets centerfielder broke backward on a ball hit well over his head by Brandon Belt, making the catch and slamming into the wall to preserve the scoreless tie.

Granderson appeared briefly dazed after securing the ball, but remained in the game.

Noah Syndergaard threw seven two-hit innings, but Madison Bumgarner outdueled him with a complete-game shutout. The Giants 3–0 won after Conor Gillaspie hit a three-run home run off Jeurys Familia in the top of the ninth inning.

San Francisco now moves on to face the Cubs in the NLDS. The Blue Jays edged the Orioles in extra innings on Tuesday in the AL wild card.
