Jake Arrieta homers off Madison Bumgarner to give Cubs 3–0 lead in Game 3
Bumgarner had never allowed a home run to a pitcher.

Cubs ace Jake Arrieta’s three-run home run to leftfield in the top of the second inning off Madison Bumgarner gave Chicago a 3–0 lead in Game 3 of the NLDS on Monday night.
It was Arrieta’s fourth career jack, and his first hit in five postseason at bats. It was also the first time Bumgarner had allowed a home run to a pitcher.
According to Statcast, the ball traveled 377 mph and left Arrieta’s bat at 106 mph.

Arrieta pitched a clean first inning, striking out the side, before the homer. The Cubs can move on to the NLCS with a win.
