The Chicago Cubs have advanced to their first World Series since 1945 with a 5–0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6 of the NLCS.

Chicago got to Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw for five runs in the first five innings, which was more than enough for Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks. He allowed just two hits over 7 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out six. Aroldis Chapman then came on for a five-out save.

Catcher Willson Contreras and first baseman Anthony Rizzo had homers for the Cubs, who tallied three doubles and a total of seven hits on the night.

Chicago will face the Cleveland Indians in the World Series, which begins on Tuesday.
