President-elect Donald Trump may tab Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts to the Commerce Department.
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts as the deputy secretary of the Commerce Department, Trump's team announced on Wednesday.
Ricketts backed Trump during the election as he helped raise at least $66 million for outside groups called Future 45 and the 45 Committee. Before supporting Trump, Ricketts was part of a super PAC that spent its resources trying to keep Trump from winning the Republican nomination.
Rciketts met with Trump last week.
Tom Ricketts, his brother, was the Cubs owner that participated in many of the World Series celebration events. The Cubs won their first World Series in 108 years as they defeated the Cleveland Indians in seven games.
