Rockies' Chad Bettis completes final round of chemotherapy

Chad Bettis has completed chemotherapy.

Colorado Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis announced that he has completed his final round of chemotherapy.

"Just got done with my last day of chemo!!" he wrote on Instagram. "My family and I want to say thank you for all the support and prayers! We're eternally grateful for y'all. We are excited to move forward and start the process of getting back. Again, thank you! We love you!"

Bettis completed two months of treatment after being diagnosed with cancer in March.

Bettis was initially diagnosed with testicular cancer in November 2016 and had surgery to remove one of his testicles. He was told that he was cancer-free in December but a biopsy in the spring indicated otherwise.

Bettis, 27, is in his fifth season with the Rockies. He went 14–8 last season with a 4.79 ERA and led the team with 32 starts made. There is no timetable for his return to the Rockies yet.

The Rockies are 24–15 on the year.
