President Donald Trump to Attend World Series at Nationals Park If There Is a Game 5

Donald Trump plans on attending Game 5 of World Series

President Donald Trump plans to attend Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday, if the series goes that far.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Trump said he would go to the game at Nationals Park, if it is played. The Nationals hold a 2-0 series lead over the Astros. Houston would need to win one of the next two games to force a Game 5.

Every president since William Taft in 1910 has thrown out a ceremonial first pitch, either for Opening Day, the All-Star Game or the World Series. In 2010, President Obama threw out the first pitch on Opening Day at Nationals Park to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Presidential Opening Day first pitches.

Trump told reporters on Thursday he was still unsure if he would be throwing out the first pitch.

"I don’t know," he said. "They got to dress me up in a lot of heavy armor. I’ll look too heavy. I don’t like that."

The Nationals and Astros will play Game 3 and 4 in Washington D.C. on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
