Former Texas Rangers star Josh Hamilton was arrested on Wednesday on a third-degree felony charge of injury to a child, CBS 11's Jason Allen reported.

Hamilton's bond was set at $35,000 with the condition that he not have contact with one of his daughters and any children under the age of 17.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Hamilton’s ex-wife, Katie Hamilton, had sought a protective order earlier this month on behalf of one of the couple’s three children.

Hamilton, 38, was the American League MVP with the Rangers in 2010. His last MLB game was in 2015.

The Rangers inducted Hamilton into their Hall of Fame before an August game against the Minnesota Twins.
