Yankees legend Derek Jeter will attend his first Old-Timers’ Day at age 49, even though it has been nine years since he retired from MLB.

The five-time World Series champion has been reluctant in recent years to attend the Yankees’ honorary event for all its veterans. This year marks the 75th edition of the special day at Yankee Stadium.

Jeter decided to join the rest of his Yankees alum this year because the team will be honoring the 25th anniversary of the 1998 World Series team, Jeter’s first championship ring. 28 of those teammates are planning to attend the event as of now.

Old-Timers’ Day is on Saturday, Sept. 9 before the Yankees vs. Brewers game at 2:05 p.m. ET.
