1. If you've been a reader of mine since the old “Hot Clicks” days, you know I have a soft spot for local news because oftentimes it's a trainwreck.

And I don't mean that in a negative way. I mean that more in a, "”you never know what you’re going to get with local news” way.

I say all this to set up what happened Tuesday on Phoenix’s Fox 10 when the local anchors threw it to a reporter in Philadelphia covering Game 2 of the Diamondbacks-Phillies NLCS. Here’s how the exchange went down:

Anchor No. 1: They’re looking to even the series tonight against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Anchor No. 2: Let’s see what they can do. Fox 10’s Troy Hayden is live tonight in Philly, where he caught up with some D-Backs fans cheering on the home team. Troy, you found one?

Troy Hayden: No. We found no D-Backs fans. Not one. We were here for almost two hours.

In a day and age where people love to scream “FAKE NEWS,” Hayden needs to be commended for his brutal honesty.

However, the story doesn’t end here.

Right in the middle of Hayden’s report, guess what happened? Much to his delight, a D-Backs fan walked by. “We found the one Diamondbacks fan here!” exclaimed Hayden as the fan started getting heckled.

2. Speaking of the Phillies and their rabid fan base, one particularly overzealous individual, who made the mistake of running on the field during Tuesday’s game, got absolutely TAKEN OUT by a security guard.

3. Today is the eight-year anniversary of the worst play in NFL history. Pat McAfee, who was a central part of the play, a Colts fake punt against the Patriots, broke down the play a few years ago.

4. Here is this week’s edition of the best weekly segment on sports TV, “Bad Beats.”

5. Sunday's Eagles-Jets game is now the most-watched game of the NFL season. A whopping 26,085,000 million people watched New York’s upset win over Philly.

6. The latest SI Media With Jimmy Traina podcast features a conversation with Monday Night Football’s Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.

Among the topics covered: passing John Madden and Pat Summerall as the longest-tenured network broadcast team in their 22nd year together, Aikman’s relationship with Madden, why Buck will never call baseball for ESPN, Aikman’s opinion on whether the Tush Push should be banned, Tom Brady’s going to Aikman for advice on becoming a television analyst, Aikman’s philosophy for being critical of players, how Aikman would use Twitter to bust Buck’s chops and much more.

Following Buck and Aikman, Sal Licata from WFAN radio and SNY TV in New York joins me for our weekly “Traina Thoughts” segment. This week, we discuss Jerry Seinfeld’s teasing some sort of Seinfeld reunion regarding the series finale. Jimmy also answers reader-submitted questions in a new mailbag segment.
