Alex Rodriguez Trapped at Trader Joe’s, Grocery Shopping With College Daughter

As a former baseball superstar who earned nearly half a billion dollars during his career and an owner of an NBA franchise, Alex Rodriguez isn’t somebody to whom many people can relate.

However, many parents of college students can surely relate to moving a child back to college and going grocery shopping to make sure he or she is fully stocked for the upcoming semester. The three-time American League MVP is no exception.

Rodriguez was invited by his daughter, who attends the University of Michigan, to dinner, presumably to spend some time together as the Winter semester began. However, she may have had other ideas in mind as the two did laundry and went grocery shopping before getting a meal.

As a result, the former New York Yankees slugger was trapped at Trader Joe’s for two hours to buy groceries. No word on how much of that time was spent looking for a parking space. Rodriguez shared his plight with fans on his Instagram account.

The Fox Sports baseball analyst was apparently so eager to get a meal that he unsuccessfully tried to exit through the store’s entrance. However, for anyone who’s been to a Trader Joe’s, the layout for customers to head for the correct exit after going through the checkout lane seems pretty clear.

Did Rodriguez’s actions indicate that he hasn’t been to a grocery store very often? That might be the assumption But to be fair, the entrance and exit are typically through the same doorway at most supermarkets.

At least Rodriguez’s daughter seemed to have fun filming her father’s confusion. Hopefully, she took him to one of Ann Arbor’s nicer restaurants for a great meal afterward.
