Albert Pujols to Manage Dominican Winter League Team for 2024–25 Season

After a storied MLB career, future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols has begun his next chapter.
Pujols will manage the Leones del Escogido of the Dominican Professional Baseball League in the 2024-25 season, the club announced Thursday afternoon.
The Santo Domingo-based Leones are among the most storied Dominican clubs, having won four Caribbean Series titles.
Team general manager and New York Yankees third base coach Luis Rojas said in a Spanish-language statement that Pujols was excited to start his managerial career with the team, and his presence will have an impact both on and off the field.
Pujols, a Santo Domingo native who spent 2021-22 with the team, retired in 2022 after a 22-year career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers. His 703 career home runs—24 of which he hit in a surprising age-42 season—rank fourth all-time.
