Former A’s Pitcher Ron Darling Had One Word to Describe Ownership’s Handling of Team

In this story:
Most baseball fans are inclined to associate pitcher Ron Darling with the New York Mets, for which he regularly provides commentary on SNY.
However, late in his baseball journey, Darling spent parts of five seasons with the Oakland Athletics. The teams he played on weren't particularly good (with the exception of a 1992 division title), but he tacked on 37 wins to conclude a solid career.
Darling's experience with the Athletics put him in special position to address news of the team's imminent temporary relocation to Sacramento when it broke Thursday, during the Mets' game against the Detroit Tigers.
"I have to say, being a guy that wore that uniform, just appalled at the things that have happened in the last six months with that organization," Darling said when asked how he felt about the move.
While Ron Darling is known for his time with the New York Mets, he played for the Oakland A's from 1991-95. And having worn the A's uniform before, Darling said he's "appalled" by the organization's transgressions in the past six months. pic.twitter.com/mpn5vAdAS9

Oakland's slow-motion move to Las Vegas has drawn criticism in California, Nevada and elsewhere.
Per the Athletics, the team will play in Sacramento from 2025-27 with an option to remain in 2028 while their new ballpark in Las Vegas is completed.
