Lineup, how to watch the Atlanta Braves take on the Phillies on a beautiful Saturday afternoon

The Braves continue the holiday weekend homestand with an afternoon matchup against the Phillies

The Atlanta Braves couldn't get it done last night, losing 6-4, and come into today's game looking to take the lead in the series with division rival Philadelphia. It's a battle of veterans, as Atlanta sends Charlie Morton to the plate against Zach Wheeler.

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies Pitching Matchup

Starting for the Braves is veteran Charlie Morton. "Uncle Charlie" is 5-4 with a 3.62 ERA on the season, (oddly) getting a decision in every single one of his nine starts in 2023. Since returning to Atlanta for the 2021 season, Morton is 3-3 with a 3.88 ERA in ten starts against Philly. No Philadelphia player has really excelled against Morton - only Bryce Harper (1 HR) and Kyle Schwarber (2 HRs) have taken Morton deep, although several regulars have been successful at the plate, including Alec Bohm (.409, 5 RBIs) and JT Realmuto (.323, 4 RBIs).

Opposing Atlanta is Zack Wheeler. He's 3-4 on the season with a 4.11 ERA in his ten starts. He's 10-7 with a 3.16 ERA lifetime against the Braves, but has been even better since joining Philadelphia in 2020: 4-2, with a 2.04 ERA in ten starts over the last three regular seasons. No Braves player has overwhelmingly positive stats against him, but Ronald Acuña Jr is batting .235 with three HRs and five RBIs, while Austin Riley is sitting on a .267 average with one homerun and three RBIs.
