WATCH: Michael Harris drops a bomb into left-center to give Atlanta the lead

The outfielder may have just snapped out of his slump by putting one in the seats

The Atlanta Braves were down 2-1 in the fifth inning, with a runner on and the scuffling Michael Harris at the plate.

Harris, last year's NL Rookie of the Year, is mired in a .165/.238/.242 start to the season, partly due to the lingering effects of two separate injuries (back, knee) and partly just a slump. He's been doing extra work with Braves hitting coach Kevin Seitzer and special instructor Chipper Jones at hitting line drives to left-center and staying ahead of the ball.

Yeah, Chipper's lessons are paying off.

Harris took Taijuan Walker deep in the fifth inning to give Atlanta a lead at the halfway point of this game. Let's check it out:

Hopefully this is the start of a statistical turn around by Harris, whose prowess against right-handed pitching is much needed balance for this lineup.

Atlanta's holding a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth. Here's how to watch!
