WATCH: Sean Murphy goes deep against the Royals

Murphy is tearing the cover off the ball tonight

Sean Murphy is on fire.

Murphy is three for three through the first five innings of today’s game. He has two doubles and a home run and has driven in three of the five RBIs for the Braves.

Last night Murphy had two hits, including a home-run and three RBIs.

He is not going to want to leave Kansas City, as well as he’s hitting the ball right now. Through the first two games of this series, he is now five for seven with two home runs and six RBIs.

Murphy was a key off-season acquisition for the Braves, and with the recent injury to Travis d’Arnaud, his presence in the lineup is even more crucial. He'll be given days off from behind the plate, but you have to think Atlanta's going to try and find a way to keep his bat in the lineup, as hot as he is at the moment.

Sunday's series finale has a 2:10 ET first pitch. The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports South, and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
