In this story:

Drake Baldwin has picked up right where he left off from his Rookie of the Year-winning campaign. It's reached the point where he has a chance to match an Atlanta Braves legend with a specific streak early in the season.

According to MLB Network's research team, and shared by MLB.com's Mark Bowman, Drake Baldwin has scored a run in his first six games. The last Braves player with a long streak was Hank Aaron during the 1957 season.

The won the World Series that year in seven games over the Yankees back when they were in Milwaukee. It's one of those stats that spells positive vibes for the team and Baldwin. You're matching something not seen since a Hall of Famer that went on to win an MVP and a ring that season.

So, all it will take is for from to reach base in Thursday night's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks and be driven in by one of his teammates. If that happens just once, he'll match Aaron.

Baldwin has been by far the most productive member of the team. He leads the team with those six runs scored, and he also leads the team with seven RBIs.

He’s batting .318 with a 1.196 OPS and three home runs to complement those other counting stats. He almost had four. He had a home run robbed by Denzel Clarke in left-center field.

“This is a special hitter,” manager Walt Weiss said on Wednesday. “It's one of those swings that there's a lot of margin for error with his swing because it's in the zone for so long. It's line to line.

It's high contact with power. You know, and those are the special hitters.”

Over the offseason, Baldwin recevied 21 of 30 possible first-place votes to beat out Cade Horton to be voted the 2025 National League Rookie of the Year.
