Whew, that was fun.

Atlanta broke the four game losing streak in style, absolutely smacking the Texas Rangers 12-0 thanks to five two-run homeruns and a strong 6.2 innings from "Uncle Charlie" Morton to open the series.

The Braves look to secure a series win tonight with a 8:05 ET first pitch from Arlington.

Atlanta Braves Lineup for Tuesday, May 16th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

With Sean Murphy back in the lineup, HE moves up into the three-hole that Ozzie Albies was in and Austin Riley remains as the cleanup hitter. Eddie Rosario returns to the lineup, but as the DH, batting 5th, with Sam Hilliard getting his first start in quite a while, batting 9th.

Atlanta Braves vs Texas Rangers Pitching Matchup

Atlanta's calling up youngster Jared Shuster for tonight's start. The lefty is 0-1 on the season with a 8.31 ERA across his two starts. He hasn't made it out of the 5th inning in either, going 4.2 against Washington with six hits and four runs on Opening Weekend in DC before getting smacked by San Diego at home for six hits and four runs in four innings the next Friday. He's been working out of the rotation in AAA Gwinnett ever since, going 2-0 with a 3.28 ERA in his five starts, walking 14 and striking out 23. The Braves are looking for Shuster to limit the walks - he was doing that in spring training and looked like one of the best pitching options on the team during Grapefruit League play.

Opposing Shuster is veteran Dane Dunning. After starting the season working in relief, he's been put into the rotation due to injury and has done well, going 1-0 in his two starts on the season with a 1.64 ERA and striking out eight in his 11 innings. He's faced Atlanta exactly once, starting in a Rangers victory last April and going 7.2 innings with four hits and one run as he picked up the win. He walked nobody and struck out seven Braves. No Atlanta hitter has a successful track record against him, with only Ronald Acuña Jr (1-3 with an RBI) and Sean Murphy (1-8 wit an RBI) even logging a hit against Dunning despite nine hitters having a collective thirty-one at-bats against him.
