Dodgers Notes: Giants Fan Can't Handle 'The Freddie,' Kershaw Addresses Future

The latest and greatest Dodgers news from Saturday all in one place!

The Dodgers shut out the Giants on Saturday night and all is right in the universe again. Adding a little NL West fun to LA's 7-0 victory over San Francisco, the win came on the day the San Diego Padres were essentially eliminated from Wild Card contention.

Dodgers fans online were quick to find the nice connection of Clayton Kershaw pitching and earning the win for the Dodgers at the same time the Padres -- who infamously posted a meme of a crying Kershaw on the video board at Petco Park back in May -- had their playoff hopes come to an end.

Wrapping up this NL West theme, one Giants fan online was roasted for his complaint about the Dodgers doing the disrespectful Freddie Freeman dance after extra-base hits.

Admittedly, Dodgers fans might not enjoy it if the shoe was on the other foot, but the old adage of "play better if you don't like it" seems to fit well here.

Back into actual Dodgers news and notes, as mentioned above, Clayton Kershaw picked up the win on Saturday night, his 13th of the year and the 210th of his career. With the victory, he took over sole possession of second place on the franchise all time wins leaderboard, passing Hall of Famer Don Drysdale. Kershaw still sits 23 wins behind Don Sutton, so chances are high that second place is as far as Clayton goes.

Of course, depending on how much longer he plans on playing. He did address the elephant in the room about his future and left the window to a return in 2024 open.

"Not tonight, no," Clayton said about whether he thought about it potentially being the final regular season start of his career at Dodger Stadium." But I think... it's always special to get to pitch here. Thankfully, we're in the playoffs. It's a nice distraction, so you don't really have to think about next year or anything like that. But whenever if could be your last one, maybe you take an extra second. But I'm so far away from that decision that I don't even have time to worry about it."
