Southpaw Justin Wrobleski will take the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday in place of Blake Snell, per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts

After the unfortunate news that Snell would be hitting the injured list, there was much speculation about who would get the nod in his place.

Especially with recent news that Landon Knack is with the team in Washington D.C. ahead of the Dodgers' matchup with the Nationals, it was a Monday afternoon whirlwind until the skipper made his announcement.

Roberts said his choice for Tuesday's starter was due to Wrobleski having a scheduled start for Triple-A Oklahoma City Tuesday as well.

Roberts also confirmed that Knack didn't make the trip up to the Nation's Capital just to visit the White House with his team. There is a need for a Wednesday starter as well and it is increasingly likely that Knack will be on the mound in some capacity.

As for Wrobleski, he will have enormous shoes to fill as Snell is a two-time Cy Young award winner and an All-Star. The 24-year-old southpaw has a career 3.20 ERA in the minors across 59 appearances, 52 of which were starts.

His most recent outing to kick off his season in Triple-A saw a 5.2 scoreless innings, three strikeouts, and just three hits.

Knack, a 27-year-old right-hander, allowed two runs in 4.2 innings to start his Triple-A season, along with five strikeouts and two walks in that relief appearance.

Knack also got to play in the second game of the opening Japan series to kick off the 2025 MLB season in Tokyo. He threw two scoreless innings allowing just one hit and hurling three strikeouts.

The rest of the pitching rotation presumably has Yoshinobu Yamamoto moving to Friday evening back home, along with Roki Sasaki starting the following day at Dodger Stadium.

Wrobleski will get to show the work he has been putting in so far as first pitch against the Washington Nationals is scheduled for Tuesday at 3:45 pm PST.
