Who said the Cleveland Guardians can't hit home runs?

Okay, maybe a lot of people because it's not something they were known for last season. They only hit 127 homers last season which was the second-fewest behind the Detroit Tigers. But that doesn't mean they aren't able to hit them and Cleveland showed that on Saturday night against the Seattle Mariners.

Josh Naylor got the party started with a solar shot in the top of the fourth inning off of Logan Gilbert. This home run came at a critical part of the game as Gilbert was beginning to settle in as he had struck out four Guardians the first time through the order.

But Naylor put all of that to a halt and instead gave Cleveland a 1-0 lead.

The next Guardian to go deep was Andres Gimenez who also hit a solo blast in the seventh inning giving the Guardians a 2-0 lead. This was also the final score of the game as the two home runs, combined with a fantastic start from Aaron Civale, was all Cleveland needed to seal the deal.

This performance should put teams on notice that they shouldn't count out the long ball when prepping for this team.

No, it's not something they do often. Most of their wins were similar to the one on Friday night when the Guardians scored nine runs on 13 hits. However, they are more than capable of hitting a few out of the park and this game didn't even include homers from Josh Bell or Jose Ramirez, who'd be the likely candidates to go deep.

Cleveland goes for the season win on Sunday as Cal Qunatrill takes the mound. Will they continue to hit home runs or will it be more of a contact and run-bases kind of day?
