The streak finally is over. Friday night the Indians fought hard once again against the Kansas City Royals, but for the first time since August 23rd took a 'L' as they dropped a 4-3 decision to KC, stopping their 22-game winning streak.

The team had plenty of chances, including a backbreaking double play hit into by Austin Jackson in the 7th inning with two runners on and one out that could have been a big inning.

We all knew that the streak was going to end, and while it was fun taking a loss should refocus this team, and hopefully they will be able to get right back on track on Saturday in front of another sold out crowd at Progressive Field.

Here's a breakdown of the game and some takeaways from something we haven't done in awhile - that is chat about a Tribe loss which puts them at 91-57 on the season.

3. Bauer Had to Work

Indians starter Trevor Bauer, who had been sensational for most of the later half of the season, was forced to throw a lot, and the high pitch count hurt him on Friday night, knocking him out early.

The Tribe starter went 5.1, but had to throw 98 pitches to get there, as the Royals really made him work on Friday night. Bauer allowed four runs on 9 hits with a walk and six K's.

On the positive side he was able to record the six K's and was able to limit damage throughout the night, but overall it was an effort that was a little more off than the last few from Bauer where he was stellar.

Don't fall asleep on Bauer, look for him in a few days to rebound and be able to get right back out there with a very good effort on the west coast.

2. Pressing?

This win streak was defined by the fact the Indians played loose and fun, always seemingly having smiles on their faces and being able to do as they pleased.

Friday that didn't seem to be the case, and you felt it even a bit on Thursday when in the 8th inning two of the big sluggers on the team in Jay Bruce and Carlos Santana both fouled out to end the inning.

In the contest on Friday the team managed just six hits, and left seven batters on base, showing their inability to get a big hit when it counted.

As spoken about in the open, the most glaring moment came in the 7th with two on and one out, when Austin Jackson, a solid vet who has had a good season, grounded out into a 6-4-3 double play in a situation that could have tied the game or at least could have gotten the runners over.

It's human nature for a team that hasn't lost as long as the Indians to press a little, and it seemed like the last two nights all the attention may have gotten to them a bit.

1. How Much Fun was the Last Few Days?

If the 2017 MLB Playoffs are half as fun as the last few days of Indians wins were, it's going to be another October to remember for the Tribe.

The atmosphere down at Progressive Field this week was as magical as it's been a very long time (okay maybe like last Ocotber), but the fans really turned out and were super into just about every pitch of the Indians run to make history.

The team overall delivered more than anyone could have ever expected, as winning 22 games straight is something that probably won't be done in baseball for another 100 years.

The party atmosphere that the fans created is going to stick around for awhile, as this team is set to clinch the division in the next couple days, and they are still the front runner in the American League record wise.

It was a historical streak, one that will define this season no matter how it ends.
