CLEVELAND - After an awful start to the second half out west, the Indians came home and did a solid job of making sure to put the 1-5 trip against the A's and Giants in the past, wrapping up a sweep Sunday over the Toronto Blue Jays with an 8-1 win.

The Tribe did something they haven't done much of as of late, that is give starter and ace Corey Kluber some runs to play with, as they plated four runs in the first inning, allowing Kluber to go in cruise control the rest of the day.

The result was a dominating out in which he struck out a season high 14 Jays, and allowed just one run on five hits with two walks in 7.2 innings.

The Indians now sit at 51-45, and will host a makeup game against the Reds Monday night at 7:05pm at Progressive Field. Here's three takeaways from the Sunday win and sweep over the Jays.

3. Kluber in Control

Finally the Indians got Corey Kluber some runs, and with the extra day off with his sore neck, the Tribe ace went off for maybe his best outing of the year, striking out 14 Jays in 120 pitches.

He allowed one run, a homer to Kevin Pillar in the 3rd, but it seemed that after the Tribe gave him that four-run cushion in the first he was as cool as could be as he dominated the Jays the rest of the day.

He did give up five hits and two walks, but was able to pitch around any possible damage and all day put the Jays down with what looked to be relative ease.

These are the types of outings one would expect from an ace, and again maybe the key was getting him some early runs. Considering the Indians had scored just 13 runs the last five games for Kluber, seeing them jump out with four in the first was a huge boost.

Kluber is set to be back on the mound for the opener of the teams' road trip on Friday in Chicago.

2. Lindor Stays Hot

Indians SS Francisco Lindor had a big weekend, with the game-winning homer on Saturday, and then Sunday he put up three hits in four plate appearances to raise his average to .262.

Over the three games against the Jays, the Indians shortstop went 5-for-12 with three runs scored, two RBI, and of course the big homer to send the fans home happy on Saturday night.

Sunday against the Jays was Lindor's 7th game of 2017 in which he had three or more hits, and it seems like he's getting hot which is a major key for the Tribe as they keep trying themselves to stay hot and atop the AL Central.

His bunt in the first on Sunday in which he reached first after no one covered the base for the Jays was a spark plug after a Carlos Santana single to get the inning going which led to four Tribe runs.

1. Full House

The Indians enjoyed their best three-game stretch of fans at Progressive Field over this past weekend, drawing just under 100,000.

While the attendance was helped out by plenty of Blue Jays fans that made the trip, it was a great sight to see so many seats full at the ballpark, with two sellouts and close to 31,000 for the Sunday affair.

Overall 99,554 went through the turnstiles over the weekend, with Sunday a draw of 30.701. Likely that will be hard to duplicate Monday with a makeup game against the Reds, and then three games against the Angels, a team with not much drawing power these days.

Weekends are still a big draw at Progressive Field, and the Indians fans that took in any of the three games were treated with wins by the Wahoos as they swept the weekend slate.
