In this story:

Bryce Harper arrived at the Philadelphia Phillies spring training complex on Thursday as he continues to rehab following Tommy John surgery on his elbow.

The big question continues to linger: "when will he be ready to play again and in what capacity?"

Speaking with the media, Harper gave an update on his recovery and potential return to the lineup, however remained cautious on any timetables.

“We’re not going to rush,” Harper said. “I could be after [the All-Star break]. I could be before … (But) we’re going to be smart about it.”

It does appear that Harper will be limited to just DH duties upon his return, a position he used to not agree with but now appreciates.

“I was so against it, right? I’m all about it,” he said. “I love doing it, too.”

As far as right field goes, don't hold your breath.

“I don’t think we’re going to rush back to the throwing part.”

The theme of the day was "don't rush it." That is exactly what Harper and the Phillies will do. Once he returns to the lineup they want him to stay there. His presence is felt throughout the clubhouse and roster. Getting him back 100-percent healthy is the ultimate goal.
