Pat Listach retired from professional baseball in 1998 after a mediocre campaign with Philadelphia Phillies' AAA affiliate Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons. Now over two decades later, Listach will return to the franchise with which he ended his career.

On Jan. 6, Jon Heyman of MLB Network and Audacy Sports reported that the Phillies high-A affiliate Jersey Shore BlueClaws have hired Listach as manager.

Since his retirement, the 54-year-old has coached or managed more than nine different teams, the Blue Claws will be his 10th. Beginning in 2006, Listach worked his way up through the Chicago Cubs' system from class AA manager to major league bench coach in 2011. In 2008, he was honored as Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year.

Listach’s stops have also included jobs as Washington Nationals' third base coach, Cubs' third base coach, Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league infield coordinator, Houston Astros' first base coach, Seattle Mariners' Class AAA affiliate manager, as well as manager of Mexican League Aceros de Monclova.

A Spanish speaker, Listach’s assignment in the Phillies system will help him better communicate with the litany of young Latin talent coming through the Phillies' system.

As a player, Listach collected Rookie of the Year honors with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1992. He played six seasons and appeared in over 500 games between the Brewers and Astros before his major league career came to an end after 1997.
