Phillies Release Starting Lineup for Wednesday's Game Against San Francisco Giants

The Philadelphia Phillies will try for a sweep of the San Francisco Giants Wednesday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the final game of a three-game series.

The Philadelphia Phillies will try for a sweep of the San Francisco Giants Wednesday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. ET, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Newly acquired Michael Lorenzen will make his fourth start with the Phillies. Two weeks ago, the 31 year-old right-hander threw a no-hitter. Lorenzen signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Tigers last winter, and was named an All-Star for the first time in his career this summer. Lorenzen spent the bulk of his career as a relief pitcher, before receiving an opportunity to start for the Los Angeles Angels in 2022.

Righty veteran Alex Cobb takes the mound for the Giants Wednesday, as the club attempts to salvage the final game of a three-game series. San Francisco are 4-12 over their last 16 games, and fell out of a Wild Card spot with their loss yesterday. If the season ended Tuesday, the Giants would be out of the playoffs for the second straight year. Gabe Kapler's club will try for a much-needed win Wednesday.
