The Future Looks Brighter For Phillies After Home Opener

In this story:
Returning home was just what the Philadelphia Phillies needed.
After a rough 1-5 start on the road against the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees, the Phillies came back to Citizens Bank Park with a new scoreboard and a new outlook.
The result was a 5-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
The Phillies raised the 2022 National League pennant and J.T. Realmuto crushed a 448-foot home run.
Trea Turner, who made his much-anticipated debut in front of his new home fans, produced two hits and scored twice. Nick Castellanos hit two doubles and added a walk.
It was a balanced offensive effort.
"We've done a lot of good things -- we've gotten a lot of hits but haven't necessarily scored, and we've pitched at times and this and that," Turner told reporters. "We just have to put it all together, and today I thought we did that. We played really well in all facets."
Zack Wheeler was effective in his second start as he allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings and Craig Kimbrel earned his first save in a Phillies uniform and No. 395 overall.
After a difficult road trip, this was a good start.
The Phillies fully realize there’s so much more work to do.
“Once we sync up, I'm sure we're going to roll off a lot of ‘W's,” Castellanos said. “All in all, I think when 162 is over … I'm pretty sure we'll be where we want to be.”
