Watch: Schwarber Blasts First Home Run, Gives Philadelphia Phillies Lead

In this story:
It only took until the fifth game of the 2023 MLB season, but Kyle Schwarber has hit his first home run of the season. It could not have come at a better time after the Philadelphia Phillies have been struggling to create runs this season as the offense has sputtered.
Schwarber is one of the key cogs in the offense but has largely been silent this year. On Tuesday, he broke open the scoring against the New York Yankees with a solo home run in the first inning. It gave the Phillies a 1-0 lead.
Schwarber's home run travelled 415 feet and was deposited into the right-center field stands. It came off the bat at 104.4-mph and had a launch angle of 27 degrees.
If Philadelphia hopes to start trending upward, it will take more at-bats from Schwarber like the one here.
This should help the offense get kickstarted against the Yankees.
