Philadelphia Phillies Flounder, Drop Disappointing Game to Marlins

In this story:
Maybe it was the long season that ran into November. Maybe it is the pressure that comes with being the reigning National League champions. But oh boy how disappointing Aaron Nola has been for the Philadelphia Phillies this season.
In three starts, including Tuesday, he now sits at a 7.04 ERA. Nola pitched 5.2 innings last night and gave up four earned runs. He has not looked himself and he has sure not looked the part of the ace.
As for the rest of the pitching staff, Connor Brogdon gave up an earned run in 1.0 innings pitched and Andrew Bellatti gave up three earned runs in the same span.
Things have looked dire.
Offensively, Kyle Schwarber hit a solo home run in the sixth and Nick Castellanos recorded a multi-hit night, both singles. All of which were too little and too late.
There isn't much to dissect. This Phillies team has been encouraging, disappointing, and at times downright atrocious this season.
Tuesday night saw a little bit of all three.
They will try again on Wednesday afternoon as Zack Wheeler takes the mound to try and right the ship. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.
