The Philadelphia Phillies need some help with their pitching rotation, that is no secret. When two of the five pitchers included Bailey Falter and Matt Strahm, no matter how well the latter has pitched to begin the 2023 MLB season.

That being said, reinforcements may be on the way as Ranger Suárez threw his third bullpen session on Tuesday since suffering an elbow injury over a month ago.

According to NBC Sports Philadelphia, manager Rob Thompson likes the progress he is seeing.

"Very good," the Phillies' manager said. "We're going to decide (his next step) probably tomorrow after he comes in and we see how he's doing, whether it's batting practice. We'll figure that out."

Getting back Suárez and pacing him in the rotation would help settle things down and bring the situation out of a state of flux. If the Phillies hope to compete in a competitive National League East then a stable rotation will be needed.
