American League Championship Series Schedule, Times Set for Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros

The Texas Rangers will start the American League Championship Series on the road Sunday at the rival Houston Astros.

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas Rangers are back in the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2011 after sweeping the Baltimore Orioles with Tuesday night’s 7-1 win at Globe Life Field.

A trip to the World Series is on the line when the best-of-seven ALCS starts Sunday against the rival Houston Astros. First pitch for the Lone Star State championship opener is 7:15 p.m. at Minute Maid Park.

The second game is also in Houston on Monday afternoon at 3:37 p.m. Following a day off on Tuesday, the series shifts to Arlington for the next two games at Globe Life Field on Wednesday and Oct. 19. Both games will start at 7:03 p.m.

Game 5, if necessary, is also in Arlington on Oct. 20 at 4:07 p.m. The finale two games would be back in Houston.

All games will be broadcast on either FOX or FS1.

The defending champs are standing in the way of the Texas’ third-ever trip to the Fall Classic. The Astros eliminated the Minnesota Twins in the ALDS with a 3-2 win Wednesday.

The Rangers swept Baltimore in the ALDS 3-0, running their postseason winning streak to five games. Texas also swept the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild Card round.

The Rangers and Houston have never met in the postseason. The Astros have won the World Series twice, while Texas has yet to win a championship.

The Rangers will start the ALCS on the road since they are seeded lower than Houston. Texas is the No. 5 seed, while the Astros are No. 2.

Being away hasn’t been an issue so far for these Rangers, who are 4-0 this postseason on the road.
