Milwaukee Brewers Make Splash Signing Ahead of Spring Training

The Brewers won the National League Central last season.

CINCINNATI — One of the Reds' biggest rivals made a big move on Tuesday night, agreeing to sign first baseman Rhys Hoskins to a two-year, $34 million contract according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. 

The deal includes an opt-out in year two. 

Hoskins gives the Brewers a proven bat to put in the middle of their lineup. Milwaukee won the National League Central Division last season. This certainly helps their chances of winning it again this year. 

The 30-year-old has spent his entire six-year career in Philadelphia, posting a .242/.353/.492 slash line over that span. He had 30 home runs and 79 RBI last season.
