Rockies Mix Up Line Up Looking To Bounce Back From Rough Loss Friday Night

In this story:
Usually, a home stand goes in favor of the home team, but that hasn't been the case for the Colorado Rockies, who are on a four-game skid after being swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers, followed by a 9-1 loss against the Cleveland Guardians.
Unfortunately, the Rockies are in something of a tough stretch as the Guardians are red-hot in the quest for the final wild-card slot in the American League. However, the Rockies need to keep winning games, and their young squad is sure helping them to do so.
Colorado is having a better season than its historically brutal campaign a year ago, but their potential hasn't been tapped just yet. There is so much young talent on this roster, and the young hitters have to come up big to support a lagging pitching staff.
Rockies Starting Line Up Looking To Split Series Against Guardians

The offense will need to be on their game as they will be backing a pitcher who has an ERA creeping up on 7.00 on the year as 25-year-old Gabriel Hughes is taking the bump, but is increasingly getting worse as the year goes on.
Over Hughes's last three outings, he has allowed 19 combined earned runs while also walking seven. Unfortunately for the Rockies, their offense is going to have to come up big time if they want to split the series.

McCarthy has been consistently seen as the leadoff man, but other than him, as well as TJ Rumfield hitting cleanup, they haven't necessarily established a consistent hitting order, and Warren Schaeffer is mixing it up once again.
With a righty on the mound Saturday, there are a lot of left-handed bats in the order, which is why things look a little different for the starting lineup, as only two can be considered either/or switch hitters. Cole Carrigg and Willi Castro are both in there to complement Kyle Karros as the only entrusted righty.
Colorado has an absolutely brutal stretch as they are about to go on the road to face the best offense in baseball, the Washington Nationals, followed by the daunting Atlanta Braves. The ballclub is in desperate need of some confidence, and that starts Saturday night at Coors Field.
