New York Yankees 2020 MLB Draft Tracker: Picks, Analysis, Rumors and Updates

The 2020 MLB Draft is nearing its conclusion and the Yankees' three picks are in the books
Here is a look at New York's Draft class, featuring two left-handed hitters and one flamethrowing right-hander:
| Round | Overall | Player | Position | School |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 28 | Austin Wells | C | University of Arizona |
3 | 99 | Trevor Hauver | 2B | Arizona State University |
4 | 129 | Beck Way | RHP | Northwest Florida State JC |
Thursday night, the Bombers closed out its class by picking right-hander Beck Way out of Northwest Florida State Junior College. The 20-year-old hurler popped up on the radar of big-league scouts during the Cape Cod League this past summer.
Earlier in the evening, the Yankees selected Arizona State's Trevor Hauver with the organization's third-round pick (99th overall). Hauver, listed at second base, played the majority of his college career in the outfield.

Hauver joins catcher Austin Wells from the University of Arizona in New York's 2020 MLB Draft class thus far. New York's first-round pick Wells is a familiar face – picked by New York in the 2018 MLB Draft out of high school – and boasts a potent left-handed bat.

In a shortened format, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Yankees only made three picks across five rounds. When New York signed ace Gerrit Cole, the organization forfeited its second- and fifth-round picks.
