One more step to go.
The New York Yankees are promoting top prospect outfielder Jasson Dominguez, aka "The Martian," to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Brendan Kuty of The Athletic was the first to report on this news.
As pointed out by Aram Leighton of Just Baseball, Dominguez had been tearing it up for Double-A Somerset this month, slashing .380/.438/.608 with 12 extra-base hits, eight stolen bases and a 183 wRC+ in August.
In his last 50 games, Dominguez is hitting .302/.382/.443 with 19 extra-base hits, 21 stolen bases and a 128 wRC+.
Jasson Dominguez has REALLY settled into Double-A in his age 20 season.

Overall on the season, "The Martian" is slashing .254/.367/.414 with a .781 OPS, 15 home runs and 66 RBIs in 109 games.
The Yankees are hoping that Dominguez, who is the No. 2 ranked prospect in their farm system, can be the center fielder of the future in the Bronx.
If the Yankees don't re-sign Harrison Bader in the offseason, there will be a vacancy in center. However, Dominguez likely won't be major league ready by the start of next season, so It's possible that the team could bring in a placeholder until he forces his way into the big-leagues.
Monday was a giant step for "The Martian," a promising young prospect in the Yankees' system, who is still just 20-years-old.
