A heavyweight bout has been added to Strikeforce's debut card on Showtime as heavy hitter Brett "The Grim" Rogers returns to action to face former BET Iron Ring competitor RonHumphries in a fight that is expected to fill the last slot on the televised broadcast.

The bout was first reported by FiveOuncesofPain.com. Sources later confirmed it to MMAWeekly.com, saying that the fight has been verbally agreed upon, but bout agreements had not been signed yet.

If Rogers vs. Humphries becomes official it will most likely be the fight that replaces Jake Shields vs. Joe Riggs. The Shields-Riggs fight was scheduled and then later canceled when Shields accepted a fight at 185 pounds against Robbie Lawler in May.

Undefeated in his MMA career, Rogers was a rising star in the EliteXC heavyweight division before the company went out of business in 2008. Holding wins over fighters like James Thompson and Jon Murphy, and a highly publicized feud with former EliteXC star Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, it seemed Rogers was on the fast track to success until the company went off the rails.

Now Rogers looks to make his mark in Strikeforce taking on a relatively unknown fighter in Humphries.

Holding a 5-0 record as a professional, Humphries gained his biggest success as a part of the BET series Iron Ring featuring mixed martial arts competition. But with none of the fights being officially sanctioned, no wins or losses were recorded on any of the fighters' records.
