Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro inks multi-fight deal with strikeforce and immediately becomes a contender in their lightweight division.

Strikeforce's director of communications, Mike Afromowitz confirmed the news to MMAWeekly.com, but no opponent has been named for the 30-year old's Strikeforce debut.

Ribeiro (20-3) last fought in July at Dream 10, losing a unanimous decision to Shinya Aoki in the finals of the welterweight grand prix. He's lost two of his last three outings, but before that hadn't been defeated since 2004 stringing together a nine fight win streak before being defeated by Gesias "JZ" Cavalcante at K-1 HERO'S in Sept. 2007.
