UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is the first MMA fighter to appear in the SI Swimsuit Issue.
Rousey models in the magazine, out this week, and joins tennis star Caroline Wozniacki as athletes in the spread.
Rousey, a Riverside, Calif., native holds a career 10-0-0 MMA record with two knockouts. She also has a growing film career; after a role in The Expandables 3 in 2014, she will be featured in Furious 7 and Entourage this year.
The two athletes, along with several other models, were photographed on Captiva Island in the Gulf of Mexico for the shoot. According to the magazine, the two athletes traded tennis pointers for Wushu (a Chinese martial art) tips.
"[Captiva Island] provides a classic Swimsuit backdrop: white beaches, calm waters and a laid-back island vibe," reads their feature in the magazine.
