UFC 205 recap: Conor McGregor beats Eddie Alvarez on historic night in NYC

The UFC 205 card promised to be the deepest in the history of the sport and promotion and Saturday night's performances certainly delivered.

Featherweight champion Conor McGregor made the move up to 155 pounds to fight lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and made history on Saturday night, becoming the first two-weight champion in UFC history.​ Tyron Woodley escaped his first title defense against Stephen Thompson with a majority draw decision to retain his belt. In the third title fight of the night, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk defeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz to retain her belt.
