Giants rookie Tim Lincecum pitched eight scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in an 8-0 win Saturday against the Brewers at Miller Park. Lincecum has allowed just four runs with 41 strikeouts over his last five starts.

Facing more than three batters in just one inning, Kason Gabbard pitched Boston's second complete game shutout of the season and beat the Royals 4-0 on July 16 at Fenway Park. Gabbard allowed just three hits with eight strikeouts for the Red Sox, and then won his next start July 21 against the White Sox, allowing just one run over seven innings.

Dodgers' starter Derek Lowe and Mets' starter Tom Glavine each turned in season-worst outings Thursday, July 20, with both failing to notch any strikeouts in a 13-9 Mets win. Lowe had eight earned runs in three innings, including six in the first, while Glavine failed to win his 299th game by allowing six runs before being pulled with no one out in the third.

Ryan Howard hit two two-run homers in the Phillies 15-3 win over the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on July 17. Howard batted .500 last week with 10 walks, five home runs and 13 RBIs.
