Within the span of minutes, the NFL suspended Saints coach Sean Payton for the 2012 season, and the Jets traded for Tim Tebow. (A couple of hours later, it was reported that the Denver-New York trade could be nullified because of contract issues.) We'll start with the disciplinary action against the Saints. New Orleans quarterback Drew Breestook to Twitter to share his reaction, saying, "I am speechless. Sean Payton is a great man, coach, and mentor. The best there is. I need to hear an explanation for this punishment." However, Viking punter Chris Kluwe had a different spin. Kluwe, as you can see from the screengrab above, is not happy with people blaming the so-called "whistle-blower" for exposing the Saints' bounty system. It will be interesting to see if Kluwe's tweets stay up or get deleted. Meanwhile, while all this was going on, the NFL Network's Warren Sapp tweeted that former Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey was "the snitch. This caused Shockey to go on his own expletive-filled Twitter tirade.

The trade of Tebow from Denver to New York hasn't been completed as of this writing, but before the hold up, there was plenty of action. People on Twitter went nuts, and Bovada.lv immediately released these odds for the upcoming season.

As for the reaction in New York City, when fans thought Tebow was headed to the Big Apple, WFAN radio and YES-TV host Mike Francesa got into this classic argument with a caller after he destroyed the Jets during the opening of his show. And these two Jets fans wasted no time buying their Tebow jerseys. With the trade in limbo, hopefully they didn't pay big bucks.
