Favre shoulders blame for Packers split

Brett Favre and the Packers continue to inch toward a reunion, seemingly one media appearance at a time. Both team president Mark Murphy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have shared their thoughts on a reunion this off-season. On Thursday, Favre weighed in. ... Favre joined [Joe Buscaglia at WGR 550 in Buffalo] in lieu of Jim Kelly's "Hunter's Hope" charity auction. ... (On if he has any regrets with how it went down, going to New York and Minnesota) "It's the way it is. ... It is what it is. It's over and done with. I was at fault. I feel that both sides had a part in it. If you could go back would I or them have done things differently? I'm sure both sides would. But you can't. I don't know for certain, but I think the situation with Peyton (Manning) and the Colts almost looked like our situation." (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)Comment

Karl the answer in L.A.

That Coach of the Year curse struck again, and quickly this time in the case of George Karl. It's no longer a blah summer for free agents not named Chris Paul or Dwight Howard. One of the best coaching minds in NBA history just became available, which should prompt the Clippers to wrap their heads around the possibilities. Hiring [Karl] would be the final frontier for the Clippers to become a Finals contender. A big-time team needs a heavyweight coach, and Karl certainly qualifies. ... Karl, 62, has a sage voice and a soothing presence that would provide the kind of gravitas a largely immature team such as the Clippers needs. One of his catchphrases is "teamness," a term Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan could find useful. (Los Angeles Times)Comment

Kane's late-night Twitter rant: 'I don't care!'

As a player, sitting at home, Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane has a different perspective than most on this NHL playoff season -- and he expressed them Thursday night. [Kane] went on a brief rant about why he doesn't care about watching the NHL playoffs and how he's tired of losing. His comments ... "[@EKane9JETS:] For everyone asking why I don't care to watch or talk about the NHL playoffs. I'm not playing in them, I can't win this year, CONT: ... So I don't care! Next year will be a different story! You can count on that. ... I'm sick of sitting here at this time of the year not having a chance to win, not scoring goals, not winning games and not winning rounds. ... It really [ticks] me off and I'm done with these kind of results. It's time to start winning and it's starting now. ... Goodnight tweeps. #thenatural" (CBS Sports)Comment
