All-American Soap Box Derby

The All-American Soap Box Derby is an annual youth race with a long history. For 76 years, children from 7 to 17 years old have designed simplified cars from kits, competing in races on different levels. Newsman Myron Scott made the derby national after covering a similar race with cars built by the boy drivers. The event has been held at "Derby Downs" in Akron since 1936. Here are some shots from this year's event on July 27.
