Myles Turner received so much attention from colleges that the 7-foot center has his parents running interference, but his play on the court speaks volumes. In college basketball terms, he is the most talented free agent left on the market -- this year's Andrew Wiggins. One year ago, it was Wiggins who left the college coaches breathless, waiting until the second week of May to announce his decision to attend Kansas. This year, it's Turner, rated as ESPN's No. 2 overall recruit in the senior class. He could even follow the same path to Lawrence. Manziel's first pre-draft visit: New England
How will The Johnny Football Show play in Foxboro? Texas A&M start quarterback Johnny Manziel is in town and set for an official pre-draft visit with the Patriots today, according to a source. Interestingly, this is Manziel's first pre-draft visit, but he has plenty more lined up afterward. Manziel became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012, and his high-profile lifestyle has turned him into one of the most polarizing prospects in recent memory. Manziel is a potential No. 1 overall draft pick, so the Patriots' interests is almost certainly a means of advanced scouting. Bill Belichick has often discussed the merits of interviewing draft prospects as a way to formulate a base in their scouting reports, either in terms of preparing for a future opponent or a possible free agent. Big Three will meet to talk Heat future
The big three's big decision looms. Miami Heat teammates Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh all have opt-outs in their contracts at the end of this season, but no collective decision has been made as to whether they will all choose to test the free agent waters. The three met before they made their free agent decision in 2010 and could have another such meeting before their June 30 opt-out deadlines, which allows them to leave in 2014, 2015 or 2016. Wade revealed on Tuesday as part of an interview for the cover story of an upcoming issue of ESPN The Magazine that the three, who have gone to three straight Finals and won the last two, plan to have that conversation at some point.
