Group of retired wrestlers sues WWE over head injuries

A group of former wrestlers, including Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka and Joe “Road Warrior Animal” Laurinaitis, is suing the WWE over head injuries.
Bloomberg first reported the details of the suit, which includes over 50 former wrestlers.
The class action lawsuit claims the WWE did little to protect the wrestlers from numerous traumatic brain injuries sustained throughout their careers. The suit also accuses the WWE of failing to provide health insurance or medical support once the wrestlers’ careers ended.
The wrestlers say the WWE concealed information about neurological issues such as CTE. Snuka, one of the plaintiffs, was recently deemed incompetent to stand trial in the 1983 murder of his girlfriend, as his attorneys argued he was incapable due to the head injuries and concussions he sustained while wrestling.
The WWE dismissed the suit, calling it “another ridiculous attempt by the same attorney who has previously filed class action lawsuits against WWE, both of which have been dismissed.”
