Video: Thunder fan hits half-court shot for $20,000 during Game 1 against Rockets

For the third time in less than two months, a fan at a Thunder game in Oklahoma City hit a half-court shot to win $20,000.

Between the third and fourth quarter of Game 1 against the Rockets, the fan, dressed in a custom jersey, splashed a shot from midcourt and then ran to join Oklahoma City's huddle to celebrate, hugging Thabo Sefolosha before getting high-fives from some courtside fans and a bear hug from Rumble the Bison, the Thunder's mascot.

Back in March, Thunder forward Kevin Duranttackled a fan who hit a half-court shot. Earlier that month, another Thunder fan hit a half-court shot and pledged to put the $20,000 prize money towards his wife’s battle with cancer.

Clippers fans now trail Thunder fans 3-2 in halfcourt heaves this season. Back in February, a Clippers fan won a car by hitting a half-court shot. That happened again earlier this month.

Elsewhere, Heat forward LeBron James famously tackled a fan who hit a half-court shot for $75,000 in January. And, last but not least, a Hawks season ticket-holder named Kevin had a chance to win $1,000 by hitting a half-court shot, only to have his attempt come to rest, impossibly, on the back of the rim during a January game.
