Video: Nuggets' Kenneth Faried hits last-second game-winner to beat Warriors

Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried hit a last-second, game-winning turnaround jumper to lift Denver to a 100-99 road victory over Golden State on Thursday.

A tight game in the Bay Area went back and forth all the way through to the closing seconds.

With 4.7 seconds remaining and Golden State leading 99-98, Denver inbounded from the right sideline. Faried took the pass straight away at the three-point line and began dribbling to his right with Draymond Green guarding him closely. As he worked his way into the paint, Faried turned his back to the hoop, a decision that cut down his options considerably. At that point it was improvisation time, as there were no clear passing lanes and just under three seconds remaining.

Faried handled the moment well, collecting himself for a quick jump and rotating in the air to get his shoulders nearly square to the hoop. His shot, which came from about 10 feet out, cleared Green's contesting effort easily before it rattled through with just 0.5 seconds remaining.

The basket gave the Nuggets a one-point lead, and the Warriors were unable to score on the other end.

Although Denver has already been eliminated from the playoffs, the Nuggets' victory had spoiler potential, as it dropped Golden State 2.5 games back of Portland in the race for the No. 5 seed.

Faried's dramatic game-winner countered a beautiful tear drop from Stephen Curry on Golden State's previous possession. The unpredictable weaving and the beautiful touch made for a heck of a highlight, even if Faried's game-winner overshadowed it.

Faried finished with 18 points (on 8-for-18 shooting) and 17 rebounds for Denver. Timofey Mozgov tallied 23 points (on 10-for-15 shooting), a career-high 29 rebounds and three blocks to lead the Nuggets.

Curry had a game-high 24 points (on 8-for-19 shooting), seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Klay Thompson added 21 points (on 8-for-19 shooting) and two rebounds in a losing effort.
