Reports: Raptors close to reaching new deal with Kyle Lowry

The Raptors are close to reaching an agreement with free agent point guard Kyle Lowry, according to multiple media reports. Toronto is expected to make Lowry an offer of at least $12 million per year.

Lowry recorded career highs in points (17.9) and assists (7.4) last season, leading the Raptors to their first postseason appearance since 2008. He has been linked to other teams, but appears poised to cash in with the one to which he was traded before the 2012-13 season after spending the first seven years of his career in Memphis and Houston. Lowry was in the final year of a four-year, $23 million contract.

The Raptors on Sunday traded veteran John Salmons to Atlanta for scoring guard Lou Williams and Brazilian big man Lucas Nogueira. Toronto also extended qualifying offers to power forward Patrick Patterson and guards Greivis Vasquez and Nando De Colo.
